Heroine Continues: Welcome to the Team Haley!
Dear Readers, welcome to the fifth instalment in a series covering the development of Heroine. Today we are proud to announce the introduction of a new team member as well as a few more sneak peaks as Heroine is being developed.
What is Heroine?
For our new readers, Heroine is a dungeon crawleresque game initially prototyped during the Dungeon Crawler 2023 game jam. This time Joanne will be ascending a great mountain. Players need to learn and remember the the attack patterns required to defeat enemies as they progress through each dungeon and ascend the mountain. We are adding a lot more depth to the gameplay of dungeons and also greatly improving the art as well. Play the game jam prototype if you haven't already here!
Introducing Haley:
Today we are excited to add another member to the team - Haley. She has a passion for game marketing and so we have granted her the role Demonic Marketer! Here's a word from Haley:
“I’m really excited to share visual updates through our NEW Instagram, Twitter, & YouTube accounts, & I’m most looking forward to connecting with people through our upcoming community Discord server! On our socials you can expect to see newly designed characters, gameplay footage, updates from our developers, different ways you and the community can get more involved (keep an eye out for playtesting!), and much, much more! We have a lot of cool things in the works right now, & I’m so glad to be part of the talented Demon Head Team — stay tuned!” - Haley

Professor Woomba:
Heroine is going to be a narrative heavy game involving themes such as creation (gods), as well as the nature of good and evil. To that end, we plan that the environment will do some implicit storytelling. However, for the big fans of narrative - you will be able to find some additional tidbits around the world in addition to cut scenes.

Also, although this wasn't formally announced, we are switching to a bimonthly (every 2 weeks) devlog release schedule. This is mostly so we have more time to do actual development and also because it does actually take a fair bit of time to write these up.
